Meet Our Staff
We're pleased to introduce you to the hardest working Cat Ladies (and Gentleman) in the sitting business! All staff are independent contractors who have been thoroughly screened with interviews, references, criminal and sex offender registry checks. Additionally, all staff are covered by our insurance policy with Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. Except in cases of emergency, you will always have the opportunity to meet the sitter who is available to care for your household, free of charge.
Kelly C. Myers, MS, UW-AAB, DN-CCP
The proud guardian of two cats and one step-cat, Kelly earned her nickname "The Cat Lady" in her early 20's through foster and volunteer work for local rescues. In 2009, she burned out of her career in the nonprofit sector to go play with animals. After a year of working for other sitters, she took her Master of Science in Strategic Leadership to found The Cat Lady. In order to meet the increasing demand for her services, Kelly carefully screened and trained staff to build her team. Kelly is an animal rights activist and an ethical vegan.
Lauren, Cat & Dog Sitter
Lauren recently moved to Frederick and has always considered herself a huge animal lover. She grew up with dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, and even a chinchilla at one point! She was instantly drawn to the Cat Lady as this is a proud nickname she's been given by friends, and her dream in life is to create her very own cat island. She currently has three cats, a sweet baby girl named Pippa and biological siblings Milo and Oliver. Lauren also works as a high school social studies teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools.
Kylee, Sitter & Dog Walker
Kylee was adopted by several indoor cats and a feral cat colony! After spending 8 years as a kennel tech at a local vet, Kylee decided to become a Cat Lady. Before walking dogs professionally, Kylee volunteered her dog walking skills for Chesapeake Area Alaskan Malamute Protection, DARE Doberman Rescue, and LRCP Lab Rescue. In addition to being an animal lover, Kylee is a fantastic photographer!
Brian, Sitter & Dog Walker
A transplant from Chicago, Brian and his wife moved to our area to be closer to Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary and the volunteer experience they provide. Brian is quite the renaissance man with experience starting his own business, serving people with mental disabilities, and inventing board games! His family includes fish, turtles, mice, cats, and a dog -- all rescues!
Melanie, Sitter & Dog Walker
Melanie is a librarian who has worked in schools and public libraries. Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Melanie was excited to move to Frederick when her husband’s job was transferred here. She loves the Catoctin Mountains, farm fresh veggies and the urban/country environment here. An avid animal lover, she grew up working with two animal rescue groups and caring for her cat and dog rescues. Melanie lives with a lively group of kitties, brother and sis, Cocoa and Buddy, and recently adopted Cricket. She is happy to provide comfort and support to companion animals while their guardians are away for The Cat Lady.
